The personal site of Ed Caspersen. This site contains various information pertaining to personal and professional interests of mine. Additionally I will be covering the production progress of Fracture as we embark on this amazing (and frustrating) journey which is the evolution and development of this incredible plug-in.

Durian - Fight Choreography Experiment

For those who are not following the Durian blog let me be the first to say that you are truly missing out on something amazing. What I love most about the recent blog post, Fight Choreography Experiment, is that you can see a genuine collaborative effort among the Durian team.

WTF Maya....

... seriously. You're killing me over here.

Fighting an uphill battle on the final touches of the Maya FX course. My sanity is nearly gone.

But hey, my favorite Windows builder (jesterKing) just uploaded a new Win64 build of 2.5. Taking a break from Maya before I totally lose it and check out his build.

Sorry for the lack of updates

Been a little busy lately and have been slacking off on my posts. Between the MayaFX course for TD College, my college capstone, and a recent medical issue have resulted in me being behind on everything. I can say that Linux Mint has become my new favorite distro. So far my experience with this distro has been enjoyable.

Rants and thoughts - 102209

Today, while waiting for class to begin, I find myself sitting here catching up on a cinematic masterpiece; Benjamin Button. Not sure what stood in my way before of seeing this. I had driven past the theater on many of occasions while it was playing and even recall the day the DVD was released, but for reasons I can never explain today is the first time I took the time to watch it.

Bad Lieutenant: Port of Call New Orleans

In 1992 the Bad Lieutenant was released, and to my misfortune I watched it. It starred Harvey Keitel as a The Lieutenant. This movie had some memorable moments like when he shoots the radio in his car because a sports team he bet on lost.

Special day for my princess

With her days numbered I thought I would treat her to a special steak dinner. I wanted to do it now before she reaches a point that she has no appetite. There was much jealousy from the other dogs.

Durian: It has officially started!

Now it begins. The epic campaign to take Blender to the next level. Colin has already been through quite a bit since their first meeting and has managed to keep that trademark smile on his face despite all the stress. Having done a lot of R-n-D work for Fracture (and many other projects) I can't help but chuckle at the lack of enthusiasm displayed by Campbell, Brecht, and Ton when compared to the rest of the team. I do have a question though, is it me or does Soenke resemble Nathan in both personality and hair?

Stargate Universe (SGU) - My first impressions

WARNING: SPOILER ALERT

Since the abrupt cancellation of SG1, and a series finale that felt a little rushed, we were left with Atlantis which itself was canceled and ending even more abruptly leaving many of us fans slightly confused, having many unanswered questions, and just pissing us off all together. What seemed to be a dead franchise has been given another chance to redeem itself with Stargate Universe (SGU). This series promises to deliver whole new adventures and characters.

Wrapping up a less than pleasant weekend

Under an hour left until the weekend is technically over. Normally I hate seeing a weekend end, except this was one of the most depressing weekends of my life. Starting on Friday I find out that my oldest dog has cancer. The type and how long she has left won't be known until the biopsy results are in, which is about another week of waiting. On Saturday I attended the memorial to an old roommate and friend of mine who succumbed to brain cancer on September 5th.

10 West Studios bringing Hollywood to Western Michigan?

A bold attempt by Matthew Tailford and Harold Crunk to bring Hollywood to Western Michigan is slowly taking shape. Based out of Manistee, MI 10 West Studios boasts 6 sound stages. This is hope for a community that has been so severely crippled by the economic collapse.
