Rants and thoughts - 102209Submitted by ed on Thu, 10/22/2009 - 18:35 |
Today, while waiting for class to begin, I find myself sitting here catching up on a cinematic masterpiece; Benjamin Button. Not sure what stood in my way before of seeing this. I had driven past the theater on many of occasions while it was playing and even recall the day the DVD was released, but for reasons I can never explain today is the first time I took the time to watch it. The super lab probably isn't the best place to first screen a movie so I will have to watch this once more, but only so I can possibly appreciate it more.
A good movie is what I need to take my mind of things. Kirsche is still around and I am thankful for each day that I still have her. My father is waiting on the results of an ultrasound. We have until Monday to find out the results but between the symptoms and the reaction of the ultrasound technician (when my dad caught a glimpse of his pancreas on the monitor) there are many questions. Sometimes these tests are not what they seem but this will still be a long weekend as we await the news.
I am starting to press Imageworks for a decision (it has been two months now). Time is running out and I will need to know, especially with having to plan a possible relocation. In the end I just need to hear a final 'yes' or 'no' because with everything else going on I don't need the additional stress that comes from the anticipation.
I finally got an email through to Wonderstruck Studios. However they don't yet seem to organized in their hiring. IMD finally responded (months later) that the 'position' has been filled. The confusing thing is that I was never informed on the 'position' in question. So back to the interview and hiring drama that this industry is known for.
Well that is my rant. Just found out my instructor was fired so now we have been assigned labs to try and keep us busy and not asking questions.
