Well I should re-phrase this to say "Ubuntu devs are a let down". As a whole Jaunty runs really good even tho I had to manually install b43-fwcutter to get my wireless working. However the problems with the GUI and icons that I and other Blender users are having is totally unacceptable. This really obnoxious thing is when I read up on the BlenderArtists.org forums I see that this problem was known even during the beta. Good job devs on blowing off Blender users and their cries for help. Its not like we are a small community behind a relatively unknown 3D package. I give Ubuntu devs until the release of Leonidas to address this unacceptable oversight or I am crossing back over. In the meantime back to XP, because some of us are on a schedule......
