Review: From Paris With LoveSubmitted by ed on Thu, 03/04/2010 - 03:10 |
To be honest I don't know why this movie was slammed so hard by critics, well let me take that back because I do. More and more I am starting to believe that critics are forgetting how it is to sit back with with a snack and a cold drink and just enjoy themselves without over analyzing every single frame of every single film ever made. Not every film needs to be ground breaking with a flawlessly written story and characters. After a long day of coding, running Fracture FX, and satisfying my freelance contracts my brain is mush and I could careless about the timing of plot twists and character development. Movies are entertainment, period, and that is exactly what From Paris With Love is.
It was fun and fast moving and just an enjoyable shoot 'em up. These days it seems film makers are inserting too much b.s. into movies just so that they break the 120 minute barrier. From Paris With Love keeps it under 90 minutes. Not to come off a little raunchy but this film feels like a cinematic version of a quickie as it is a quick and enjoyable ride that doesn't take you all night to finish but still leaves you feeling satisfied.
The Siskel & Ebert wanna-be's out there are probably shaking their heads and scoffing as they read this but I really don't care. I liked it, deal with it.
