In a recent discussion with the third member of Fracture, an individual who likes his name kept out of blogs and that Kevin and I refer to as 'The Machine', about a series of Maya bugs involving MEL, UI's, and cross-platform compatability has made yet another memorable quote:

"These things will probably never get fixed. They're too busy changing the icons and adding things like the viewport cube."

Though I am not a religious man I do not squander the opportunity to spend time with the family I am close to and enjoy a good dinner. I hope everyone out there enjoys the next couple of days in a way most pleasing to them. I have nothing big planned for the New Years, however in my hometown of Ludington, MI they are planning to have their own little ball drop at midnight. This is the first year they are doing it and I may go see that. I also have an invitation for some live music, hot food, and outdoor fire pits.

It is simple. Get together with those you care about. Eat, drink (in my case drink a lot), laugh, and have a friendly card game. In my opinion this is the one holiday that people are most genuine in their happiness. I always felt that Christmas was too much forced happiness. Yesterday was a balance of family and friends with good food and cold beer where ever I went. What more could anyone want? No lame gift exchanges or gaudy decorations to get in the way.

... seriously. You're killing me over here.

Fighting an uphill battle on the final touches of the Maya FX course. My sanity is nearly gone.

But hey, my favorite Windows builder (jesterKing) just uploaded a new Win64 build of 2.5. Taking a break from Maya before I totally lose it and check out his build.

Been a little busy lately and have been slacking off on my posts. Between the MayaFX course for TD College, my college capstone, and a recent medical issue have resulted in me being behind on everything. I can say that Linux Mint has become my new favorite distro. So far my experience with this distro has been enjoyable.

Today, while waiting for class to begin, I find myself sitting here catching up on a cinematic masterpiece; Benjamin Button. Not sure what stood in my way before of seeing this. I had driven past the theater on many of occasions while it was playing and even recall the day the DVD was released, but for reasons I can never explain today is the first time I took the time to watch it.

With her days numbered I thought I would treat her to a special steak dinner. I wanted to do it now before she reaches a point that she has no appetite. There was much jealousy from the other dogs.

Under an hour left until the weekend is technically over. Normally I hate seeing a weekend end, except this was one of the most depressing weekends of my life. Starting on Friday I find out that my oldest dog has cancer. The type and how long she has left won't be known until the biopsy results are in, which is about another week of waiting. On Saturday I attended the memorial to an old roommate and friend of mine who succumbed to brain cancer on September 5th.

After a month of downtime, courtesy of my host, my service has finally been fully restored. It is great to be back tho there is much catching up that has to be done. There is much to share which I plan to do this weekend.
